The Genetic Reconfiguration of DSPs (GRD) chip, manufactured in April 1998, is evolvable hardware designed for neural network applications. Both the topology and the hidden layer node functions of a neural network mapped on GRD chips are dynamically reconfigured using genetic algorithms.
